Amongst many other clients Brotherton regularly worked for Playboy Magazine.

Katie Lock studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and University of Arts Berlin. She obtained her PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University. Lock has done extensive research on globalised visual cultures, that has been published in books, magazines and readers. Her PhD thesis New Wealth and the Visual Language of Luxury: An interdisciplinary study was published by Lampert Academic Publishing in 2012. This study explores how the neoliberal age mutates the symbolic character of wealth, luxury and aspirations embodied in globally proliferating cultural signifiers. Lock works as a lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University. Other teaching engagements include Chelsea College of Art and Design and Nottingham Trent University.
